Written Journal #1: Trinity River

For my first entry, I decided to seek out a spot near the Trinity River to observe the sunrise. I was inspired by the pictures of the beautiful sunrise sent to us yesterday by Dr. Williams. Honestly, it had been a while since I had been up this early, but I quickly remembered how refreshing it was to start the day off at dawn. For the first time in a while, I felt as though I was mentally prepared to get the most out of the day ahead. At first, I settled on a bench near the bike trail parallel to the river. However, I realized that due to the high tree line ahead, I wouldn’t be able to see much of a sunrise. Therefore, I ventured to the top level of a nearby parking garage to capture the event. Although the sunrise wasn’t as spectacular as the day before, I still enjoyed the moment. My favorite part of the experience was observing the warm colors reflecting off the clouds.
